BAJI QUAN X RETRO VIBES (Germany, 2022)

Here's some Wushu action for ya'll! A while ago I started learning this form of Baji Fist and decided to create a little demo video of it. Baji Quan (Eight Extreme Fist) is overall a very powerful, external style but incorporates softer elements of Tai Ji as well. For the shoot I drove down to Cologne to meet with my pal Mark Zheng, who did the lighting and camera. His friend Felix Haller kindly assisted us. They both had a wedding shoot earlier this day but still came out to rock this thing deep into the night at this abandoned military facility in Aachen. Awesome fellows!! Being a big fan of everything retro/80's I wanted to fuse it with traditional Chinese martial arts/culture. The voice over was from an old instructional Baji Fist video featuring a well known Chinese martial arts master. The quality of the recording had this very nice bad audio quality and it fit perfectly into this video. The music is from an indie band called Night Rider 87, who make great retro electronic sounds.
